I’ve been more or less absent during the Summer Holidays, partly because I took a couple of weeks off so hubby and I could get busy on our ‘Spring Cleaning’ project and to go camping, and partly because of editing, proofing and writing commitments, not to mention enjoy the weather ![]()
So… what’s new with Blaine?

Books:
July 20th Aliens, Smith and Jones, my gay sci-fi, came out.
This is what reviewers thought of it:
Also, Storm Moon Press authorized a limited print run of 500 trade paperbacks of
The Fifth Son – Illustrated, hand-numbered and with signed bookplates from me. It includes five beautifully shaded black-and-white illustrations by Yana Goya!
I received my author copies earlier this week and they’re gorgeous ![]()

Last week (August 24th) my husband and I had been married for 22 years, and I thought that was the perfect day to release a new free short (vignette sized – D/s) into the world. I originally wrote Slippery When Wet as an April Fool’s fic, and it’s about Alex and Seth taking a break from installing an inflatable slide to have a little fun of their own.
Contest:
Last month, I was Author of the Month at the Goodreads Gay Science Fiction group. To close it off, I’m running a small contest. Connor goes to see a band in the book, and I’d like you all to take a wild guess which band he’s gushing over (it’s an existing band). On Monday (Sept 3rd), I’ll randomly choose a winner from all the entries (whether right or wrong) and award them an ebook of choice from my backlist ![]()
You can enter the contest here, though, you need to be a member of the group to participate.
Events:
In two weeks I’m travelling to the UK for the UK GLBT Fiction Meet. I’m really looking forward to spending all weekend with like-minded people, whether reader or writer. As an homage, I’ve had my nails done ‘Deconstructed Rainbow’ style.

Coming Soon:
September 14th Storm Moon Press‘ Carved In Flesh anthology comes out with a new short story by me. More information about the anthology and my story will follow soon.
That’s it for my Summer Holiday 2012 update.
