I was planning on writing a little bit about the GLBTQ UK Fic Meet, but since it’s Wednesday, and therefore singing lesson day, I’ll postpone my meet post, and do a singing one first
So, anyway, my voice is still scratchy from talking too much at the Meet. Well, what do you expect, with seeing so many like minded people in one place, that I’ll be quiet? Don’t think so
I was a bit worried about singing, because the few times I tried, it felt like my voice was a bit blocked. Not just the scratchiness, though, my asthma seems to be having a late reaction to the weekend as well. So, imagine my surprise when the singing lesson went far better than either of us expected. Normally, I’m ordered to stay out of my head and descend into my body, into the here and now. This time, because of the scratchy voice, I seemed to have managed that with barely any prompting at all.
Voice is still scratchy, so now I have to try to speak the way I sing. Mmm… that’s going to be a challenge all on its own
This weeks playlist:
1) Alanis Morissette – Everything
2) Edwin McCain – I’ll be

=) Hooray for good singing practices.
Sorry for the late reply
I’m very happy with singing practice
though… being mindful when I speak is still a hard challenge
